Camps

Summer Camp: 20th-24th July 2007

This year as you all know we are celebrating Scouting's 100th anniversary, as such this years camp will be an extra special one. The camp will be held at Cherry Island, Huttons Ambo (nr. Malton). This will be a Group camp i.e. we will be joined by both the Heslington Cubs and Beavers for part of our stay. Final details will be provided later on but it will involve a centenary BBQ on the Saturday evening to which parents are also invited.

Spring Weekend: 7th-9th April 2006

This year's Spring Weekend Away will be at Hag Dyke, a remote, 300-year old Scout hostel located 1525 feet up Great Whernside (a big hill behind Kettlewell in the Yorkshire Dales). Its very remote....

Late nights, wild wide games, sing-songs & laughs around a real fire, mighty walks and even mightier breakfasts are all guaranteed, with a little climbing (weather-dependent) thrown in too. We may be joined by some of the older Cubs & Gold Patrol, as well as the token ghost! Final details will be provided later, but note that the cost of the trip will be approx £20-25 for the 2 days.

However, to aid the organisation/planning etc. we need to know at this stage who would like to go. So, if you would like to come, please complete the slip below and return it with your deposit of £10 to Scott ASAP (cash only in an envelope with your name on it please), and by Friday 3rd March 2006 at the latest.

Please get in touch if you/your parents have any questions at this stage, and also let me know if you cannot go - note there will be no alternative Scout meeting on Friday 9th April if you do not go to Hag Dyke (but you would be mad to miss it - this is one of the best places we visit!).

"Link-Up" Camp Spring Weekend: 19th-21st May 2006

The "link-Up" camp is organised by the Scout District and is your chance as Scouts who know it all to pass on your expertise to the younger generation - the Cubs!

This camp is for PL's and APL's only - any volunteers?

Summer Camp: 21st-25th July 2006

This year's Heslington Scout Summer camp will be held at the Riddings, near Aysgarth Falls in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. This will be a "green-field" camp (i.e. a la Huttons Ambo) where we lay on all the activities. We also hope to be joined by our Gold Patrol.
