The Hut
We own a compact and bijou wooden Scout Hut in Heslington. We have to pay about £1,000 per year to insure the building, and then the bills for electricity and water.

About every 3 years or so we need to repaint the outside and about every 5 years the inside. In between there are running repairs and improvements.
The Scout Hut is available for hire during the times that we are not using it for Scouting activities. For further information on prices and availablity please contact the Group Scout Leader gsl@heslingtonscoutgroup.org.uk.
The Minibus
We own 16 seater Sherpa Minibus. Experience has taught us that without a mini-bus sized vehicle it is not practical to run quality outdoor activities or visits away from Heslington.

The minibus is fully equipped with seatbelts and a "kickin'" sound system. It is also fitted with a towball.
Hiring The Minibus
The minibus can be hired by hired by Scout groups and Guide companies, subject to it not being required by any Heslington Scout Group section or not under hire to another third party. Please contact us for further details gsl@heslingtonscoutgroup.org.uk
The Gear
We have a good stock of tents and other camping and expedition equipment (stoves, lights, camp kitchens, etc.). We have a good stock of tents plus camping and expedition equipment. Our annual budget includes making good wear and tear, and for all sundry string, paint, and craft materials used on meeting nights.
